Fire and Ice Roses: Flower of the Week

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s a good idea to explore gorgeous blooms that are a unique and lovely as your Mom. This week we will be looking at Fire and Ice Roses, which put a different spin on the classic flower. Whatever you decide to pair them with, or if they are given by themselves, they are sure to please Mom on her special day!

Fire and Ice Roses are hybrid roses, being white on the outside and red on the inside. They were first grown especially for florists, instead of gardeners, as most often, but are now frequently used by both.

Because of its two contrasting colors, Fire and Ice Roses have two different meanings matching the colors. The first meaning (matching the deep red) is passionate and undying love. The second meaning (matching the white) is child-like purity and innocence.

Fire and Ice Roses stand alone beautifully, but when they are paired with some other complimenting flowers, they can become truly amazing. In the pictured bouquet, they have been paired with yellow billy balls and green coffee berries, making an arrangement that is bold, unique, and cheery (the perfect thing for Mom!).
