Anthurium: Flower of the Week

The Anthurium is a tropical plant native to parts of Mexico, Argentina, and the Caribbean. Anthurium can either be used in cut flower arrangements or grown as a house plant; and it grows and can be planted year-round, making it popular during the Fall and Winter months.

Like almost all flowers, the Anthurium has many meanings associated with it. The three most common are hospitality, happiness, and abundance.

As seen above, the Anthurium also has many different variations. Pictured are white, red, purple, pink, and green/white, but they are also known to come in a bright coral color.

Anthurium is used in flower arrangements to bring structure to the arrangement, because of its long stems. It usually can be seen fanning away from the center of the arrangement.
