Everyone knows that the ceremony is what people think of when they hear the word “wedding”. That being said, you want your wedding ceremony to be as gorgeous as you can make it. When it comes to decorating, your main focal point is going to be the flowers. When choosing flowers for your ceremony, there are three major things to keep in mind:
Venue – This one may sound like a no-brainer, but it’s actually more important that you might think. If you’re having your outdoor wedding during a typical Tennessee July or August, your favorite flowers could wilt before the ceremony even starts. Or you may find that you absolutely love Gerbera Daisies, but they’re just not going to work with the classic elegance of your glamorous venue. Make sure you tell your florist where you’re getting married, so they can suggest appropriate blooms (chances are, they’ve done a wedding there before)!
Season – For a florist, one of the most frustrating things can be when a bride says that they want peonies for their October wedding. Lots of times brides come in with a particular flower in mind, but they totally haven’t considered the season. This causes frustration for both the florist and the bride, and can end in disappointment. When choosing flowers for your wedding ceremony, make sure that they will be in season for your wedding, this is something else that your florist can be a big help with.
Budget – You know all of those gorgeous bouquets on Pinterest and in the bridal magazines? Those can usually cost quite a bit more than the average bride is willing to pay. Prices of flowers can vary depending on season, how common they are, and how long they take to grow. Orchids, for example, are going to be much higher in price than Carnations. Again, this is something that your florist will be happy to walk you through to make sure that you get exactly what you want.
