Flower Of The Week: New Years Edition

Happy New Years Everyone!
The first flower of the New Year is…
Carnation

Carnations are the birth flower for the month of January.  They come in a multiude of colors including: White, Lavender, Purple, Pink, Magenta, Red, Burgundy, Peach, Orange, Yellow, Green, & Bicolor. The edges of the petals can be ruffled or smooth. They are fragrant blooms and mean fascination, distinction, divine love, fidelity, and yes. Lavender carnations specifically mean new passion. Carnations get a bad rap sometimes because they aren’t “premium flowers” but you can use them to make beautiful arrangements like the one pictured below.
